ABOUT OUR WOOD MALLETS
Buy something that makes your life easier and you'll wonder what you did without it.
Our mallets, designed for the home (garden and studio, too!), provide an efficient tool for anyone who may be new to using them. They're versatile and perfect for a range of tasks, making it easy for anyone to incorporate them into their daily activities.
A wood mallet is a simple yet effective tool. Freestanding, its base sits solidly on any flat surface, making its upright handle within easy reach. Wood mallets deliver a softened strike with a positive drive, unlike the weighted strike of a hammer mallet.
A woodworking tool can be home decor too!
Our mallets are designed with your needs in mind. Straight-sided Astro mallets are perfect for rolling dough and crushing ingredients, while our sturdy Calla and Bump mallets are ideal for woodworking and cooking tasks. When choosing a mallet, consider what you'll be using it for, your hand size, and which designs you like best.
We start by creating design sketches that evolve into detailed CAD files. These files guide a CNC lathe in the production of our mallets. After this initial phase, each mallet is carefully hand-shaped and finished by a skilled craftsperson in woodworking. This meticulous attention to detail enables us to create pieces that are not only unique but also made with care and passion.

Pound meat only WITH AN IMPENETRABLE BARRIER like plastic or butcher paper. Direct contact with raw meat would result in unsanitary conditions, making the wood difficult to sanitize.
Yes, our products meet food safety standards established by the FDA, which are "safe for food contact surfaces." A clear-coat of Tried & True® Danish Oil is applied to all our products. CRAFTED WITH QUALITY
Buy something well-made a single time, and you'll use it forever. All handcrafted wood items may have slight imperfections or variations in color and grain. These unique features add beauty and character, making each piece one-of-a-kind and uniquely yours.
All mallets are made from solid North American hard maple, with the exception of the Figure XL and 2XL models, which are crafted from laminated blanks made from offcuts that would otherwise be discarded. During the lamination process, the boards are joined with food-safe, water-based glue. This approach not only prevents warping and cracking that can occur with solid wood items but also benefits the environment.
Since wooden mallets are used for crushing and striking, scarring and dinging may occur. The wood or leather may darken over time. This is considered normal and adds to the beauty of a distressed look—it's how you make them your own.
We design our mallet collections in Michigan. They're custom-crafted and hand-finished for us in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Maine.
GIVING BACK
We donate a percentage of our annual sales to Noah at Central in Detroit, MI, an organization that assists low-income and homeless individuals in the Detroit area. Additionally, we make donations to support educational initiatives for children in Traverse City, MI. Learn more.
SUSTAINABILITY
We craft our mallets using sustainably sourced North American hard maple and plant-based finishes, ensuring our materials are environmentally safe. Our mallets are 100% food-safe and entirely biodegradable.
We use Grainger's shipping cartons and Kraft paper void fill (EPP), and EcoEnclose water-activated paper tape. Palletized orders are strapped with metal bands. Our tags are printed on Mohawk Renewal recycled cotton paper with water-based inks, and stringers are made from 100% cotton fiber. Our print collateral is made from 100% post-consumer waste paper using water-based inks. We request that all incoming shipments be plastic-free. We do not use secondary or display packaging.
EXTRA QUESTIONS
We're happy to include a note to your gift recipient. Please add any instructions or your message in the notes field in your cart.
Please contact us for customized projects. For example, we recently created several sets of walnut mallets (instead of our usual hard maple) in response to a customer request.
Our mallets are a fun and safe way to keep your guests, audience, or yourself entertained during juggling acts. Just a heads up—while we aim for quality, we can't promise they won't break in certain situations.
